Contemporary painter Shirin Davati Kazemnia, born in 1967, creates works that explore the emotional and psychological dimensions of the human figure. Trained at Art University and mentored by painter Nami Peter, Kazemnia later relocated to a coastal town, where nature, solitude and quiet observation continue to shape her practice. Her work is deeply concerned with interior life, using the figure as a vessel for memory, feeling and symbolic meaning.
Kazemnia’s paintings focus predominantly on women, moving beyond physical likeness to explore inner states and emotional presence. Her restrained palette and carefully composed scenes create an atmosphere of stillness and intensity, while recurring motifs such as birds, angels and symbolic objects introduce layers of meaning. Through these elements, her work speaks to strength, vulnerability and the complexity of human experience.
