Maximilian Daniels | Sky No.2

Australian artist Maximilian Daniels lives and works in Sydney, where his practice is grounded in observation, representation and technique. Working through a slow layering of translucent pigments, Daniels creates paintings that hold a quiet sensitivity to surface, light and material process. His work reflects a disciplined approach to painting, where each composition develops gradually through repetition, refinement and close attention.

Daniels has exhibited regularly with PIERMARQ* in Sydney, with solo exhibitions including Slow the Leaf Falls, Past Light, The Time Between, Inside, Outside, A Shadow on the Glass, Variants and Deconstructing. His work has also been presented internationally, including at UNTITLED ART Miami Beach, CAN Ibiza, Auckland Art Fair and Epoch Art Gallery in Wenzhou, China. His practice has been recognised through awards and grants including the William Fletcher Tertiary Grant, as well as finalist and semi-finalist selections for major emerging artist prizes.
