Alina Gozin'a

Alina Gozin'a is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores identity, memory and belonging through photography, light and materiality. Born in Odesa, shaped by Berlin and New York, and now based in Sydney, her work draws on a global perspective to examine the connections between personal experience and collective history.

Working across fine-art photography, optical-illusion luminous artworks and eroded brass photographic plates, Gozin'a creates works that invite prolonged looking. Her practice often begins with documentary observation before evolving into contemplative artworks that explore vulnerability, migration and the emotional traces left by people and place.

Developed over a decade between New York and Sydney, Confessions of the Heart is Alina Gozin'a's landmark photographic series exploring intimacy, identity and human connection. Combining documentary portraiture with handwritten confessions, the project creates a collective portrait of contemporary life—revealing the shared emotions that unite strangers across cities, cultures and generations.
