Alvin Ong | Old Boy

Alvin Ong is an artist holding a BA in Fine Art from the Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford, United Kingdom (2016), and a MA in Fine Arts from the Royal College of Art, United Kingdom (2018). His evocative paintings, which evoke dreamlike landscapes, delve into the intricacies of the human form, with a predominant focus on themes of isolation, alienation, and desire.

Ong's distinctive style is characterised by blurred facial features and intertwined bodies, conveying a sense of distortion or swift motion. Through a playful amalgamation of diverse visual languages, he draws inspiration from his own experiences of hybridity and detachment across physical and digital realms.

Internationally acclaimed, Ong has showcased his work in various solo exhibitions, including "In my head" at the Armory Show, New York (2021), "Binge Watch" at Yavuz Gallery, Singapore (2022), and "Night Shift" at Mine Project, Hong Kong (2021).
