Scott Tomlinson, born in 1971 in Shepparton, Victoria, embarked on his artistic journey at a young age, initially captivated by Sydney Nolan's Ned Kelly, which he replicated on his family's living room floor. Throughout primary school, he honed his skills by sketching dinosaurs and daleks on the classroom blackboard during lunch breaks, much to the amusement of his peers and the chagrin of his teachers.
In high school, Scott's passion for art led him to choose fine art, photography, and design as his elective subjects, prompting him to forgo his studies in mathematics and science. Despite his eagerness to pursue tertiary education in art upon completing Year 12, his relocation to Sydney was untimely, preventing enrollment in his desired course.
Undeterred by this setback, Scott delved into the world of advertising, where he thrived for three decades, assuming roles ranging from finished artist and illustrator to designer, art director, copywriter, creative director, and eventually agency owner.
Upon fulfilling his aspirations in advertising, Scott embraced a pivotal change, redirecting his focus to the longstanding desire that had permeated his thoughts throughout his life: creating art reflective of his personal vision and expression.
